Facebook tries to implement a global nation

The latest hubbub about Facebook and their plans makes an interesting case. From my perspective they are trying to create a kind of internet government. If they reach any level of success there will be all kinds of systems waking up to protest. The other governments come to mind as an example.

Countries commonly frown upon anyone who creates their own currencies for their citizens, just as one of many examples of things that might become a good drama of scale.
